By the Birch Trees by Joan Riordan, my #RAOKblitz Honoree

By the birch trees

           The tulips are a
bouncy boy band with hair dyed
   a bright, bright yellow.

Past the pond

            Cherry trees throw
            pink petal confetti-
            Flower girls in a wedding.

Along the wall

            Lilacs burble bubbles
            of grape soda.
A flimsy foam fills the field.
